LA AREA EMMY DEADLINE: THIS TUESDAY JANUARY 22ND! DON'T MISS IT!!!

Here we go! It's that time of year again and, as always, knowing the
deadlines for the Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards Competition is very important.

The Los Angeles Area 2001-2002 Emmy Awards entry deadline is Tuesday, January
22, 2002, 6pm. That's the deadline! There are some rules changes this year
too. If you don't have them Entry Forms and Rules & Procedures Books are
available at the TV Academy, or contact me, Liz Korda, at 818-754-2875 to get
yours. You'll also find the rules and procedures listed on the TV Academy
website at www.emmys.tv

Among the things to know? The cost for joining the competition. Entry fees
are $110.00 per individual entry, and $55.00 for each additional individual
on an entry. To encourage station participation in the Los Angeles Area Emmys
this year, the Academy will allow stations to enter in certain categories
(see the Rules and Procedures Book for details), as a station entry, for a
flat fee of $110.00 The station would receive a single statuette and
individuals with Emmy-eligible titles would have the opportunity to purchase
commemorative statues.

Having said that, don't forget this -- joining the TV Academy gets you ONE
FREE ENTRY into the competition. It comes in the form of a waiver. This
invitation to both Active and Associate membership will be extended to any
person professionally engaged in the preceding two years in television
production for the Los Angeles Area. Application for new membership
accompanying an entry will be treated as the applicant’s voucher. These
vouchers, which again are good for one entry, are non-transferable and will
be valid until the entry deadline of January 22, 2002. If you would like a
