Orozco has been a part of Haleisner.com since our first
launch and we'll miss his weekly updates of what's new in the
world of broadcasting. Lance has handed the reigns over to Joy
Short. Currently Lance is KCLU's news director, in Thousand
Oaks California. He was recently named Journalist of the Year
in the radio anchor category by the Los Angeles Press Club.
Lance Orozco received the award at the 46th Annual Southern
California Journalism Awards banquet in Century City. |

 Joy
Short is afternoon drive anchor and senior reporter and
news writer for R & R Radio Corporation. She is the only
full time newsperson in the news department, which serves the
4 stations making up R & R Radio. Joy hosts the Joy Short
Show, a weekly program that appears Sunday mornings from 8am
-10 am on Newstalk 920 KPSI. The Joy Short Show is the longest
running talk show in the Palm Springs area now in its 15th year.
Joy spent 10 years as the Los Angeles Times Society Column covering
all the desert events and celebrities. At the same time, she
was society anchor at KESQ-TV and at KPSI. A new member of the
APTRA board of directors, Joy has also won several awards from
APTRA and frequently contributes news stories to Associated

Beaupré is a voice and performance consultant for
radio and television performers. Under the name Broadcast Voice,
he provides private training and workshops for reporters, anchors,
sports and weather casters, and others working in electronic
and broadcast media. He teaches in the Broadcast Communications
program at California State University at Los Angeles, and conducts
workshops and seminars with the Associated Press Radio and Television
Association. He has been a fixture on the convention circuit,
teaching workshops at a wide range of specialty journalism and
broadcast conventions and stations on both coasts of the U.S.
