EMMY
JUDGING
By Liz Korda
NOTE FROM HAL: It's a great feeling when you win an Emmy,
but always remember when you walk up to the stage to pick
up that gem of an honor --- SOMEONE JUDGED IT! In fact, a
panel of someones judged it. Judging is an crucial part of
the Emmy process. Many of you have been asked from time to
time to join such a panel -- to help judge a category or two.
The TV Academy needs your help in creating the best possible
judging panels! Here's a short note from ATAS LA Awards Administrator
Liz Korda about JUDGING EMMY!
**********
Reciprocal judging with NATAS Chapters occurs from time to
time throughout
the year. Each judge may choose to participate at a time of
the year that is
most convenient for him/her, e.g., a judge may be unable to
participate in
the July-August judging of Chicago entries, but will be available
for the
August-September judging of Miami entries. Judging tapes will
be available
for viewing at the stations during the course of the year.
Judges do not need
to be Academy members, but should be actively involved in
broadcasting.
Please contact your Station Awards Representative for more
information
regarding judging!
