MOVING UP IN THE WORLD, AND DOWN THE STATE: Lisa Gonzales
joins KFSN/Fresno as an anchor/reporter from KRCR/Redding-Chico.
FROM ONE HOT SPOT TO ANOTHER: Mark Martinez joins the KSAZ/Phoenix
reporting staff from KTNV/Las Vegas.
SO MUCH FOR RETIREMENT: Viacom Inc.'s television stations
group named Dennis Swanson as chief operating officer, a newly
created post.Swanson most recently served as president and
general manager of WNBC/New York before retiring recently.
He's a former G.M. of KABC TV/Los Angeles. The Viacom Television
Stations Group consists of 20 CBS stations,18 UPN stations
and one independent station.

HUGE CROSS-TOWN MOVE: Longtime KABC-TV/Los Angeles anchor
Laura Diaz is joining KCBS-TV. Diaz had been at KABC for
close to two decades, and anchored the 5 and 11 p.m. newscasts
since 1997. The deal will giver her the chance to also report
for CBS's newsmagazines, and anchor news shows.
THROWING STRIKES: Jennifer Gould is now the weekend sports
anchor at KTTV/Los Angeles, moving north from KUSI/San Diego.
FINAL COUNTDOWN TO APTRA SANTA BARBARA: There are still some

TIME
FOR A SANTA BARBARA VISIT: APTRA's annual Santa Barbara
seminar is just around the former at my old stomping grouds,
KEYT-TV. We're putting together another good round of
seminars, ranging from producing and videography to anchoring
and reporting. There's also a full slate of radio news
panels.
Our seminar is a must for job hunters, with the opportunity
to get your resume tape critiqued by a news director. Panelists
include Jeff Wald, News Director at KTLA/Los Angeles; Jim
Bunner, 11 p.m. producer at KNBC/Los Angeles; Kevin Riggs,
Political Reporter at KCRA-TV/Sacramento, and many more. REGISTRATION
