Oh,
what a night!
It was
"wonderful"said one partier "very cool"
said another! They were talking about the 3rd annual
APTRA Holiday Party at Universal CityWalk's Cafe Tu
Tu Tango.
The place
was awash in good feelings, good food, a flowing chocolate
fondue fountain, good chit chat and, something new (drum
roll please) the first ever SHOWTIME AT THE APTRA HOLIDAY
PARTY! Party band FULL THROTTLE got everyone in the
holiday mood with a medley of Christmas songs, standup
comic Richie Dreamer had everyone laughing, Irene Nachreiner
gave a strong performance singing such tunes as "Fly
Me To The Moon" and "Besame Mucho," Jimmy
Demers WOWED the crowd singing songs written by his
accompaniest brother Donny and Linda and Stephen TAVANI
rounded out a show that ran about an hour and 20 minutes.
Fun too were the shows emcees ... Gigi Graciette, Ross
Becker, Roberta Gonzales and yours truly.
This was
clearly a new direction for the party which has always
had the entertainment of FULL THROTTLE, but never a
fully produced show within the evening. This despite
such surprises as THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS' Brenda
Epperson singing "Have Yourself A Merry Little
Christmas" in the first year and at the second
annual event, STAR TREK'S George Takei leading everyone
in the singing of "Jingle Bells" while Star
Trek Voyager's Robert Picardo (The Doctor) and his daughter
belted out a comical holiday routine they designed.
Partiers
came from such places as LA, Bakersfield, Palm Springs,
San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Las Vegas and even
Chicago!
Thanks
to everyone who came and everyone who helped make this
evening a hugh success! That includes all the neat folks
at Cafe Tu Tu Tango from Misty who managed the night's
activities for the restaurant, Naomi who coordinated
them for us, Ryan -- the perfect bartender (who is a
singer herself!) and all of the neat servers -- some
of whom joined in on the fun getting out on the dance
floor like everyone else!
Oh, what
a night!
